Seedling Distribution
Our Seedling Distribution Program started in 2020 in response to increased demand in the early months of the Coronavirus pandemic. We were able to distribute over 250,000 gleaned seedlings to numerous community gardens and youth garden programs!
We see distributing seedlings as an obvious extension of our food gleaning work, as well as a step towards greater food justice in our communities. Refining this program over the years has meant partnering with farms who are growing out specific crops for us, in addition to gleaning seedlings, which are donated to over 20 sites in five counties in the Hudson Valley (Columbia, Dutches, Greene, Ulster and Albany).
